Hakem Farhan Al-Ruwaili is the president of Saudi Arabian Chevron and Chevron Kuwait Limited since March 2020. He is responsible for the oversight of Chevron’s upstream interests in the onshore Partitioned Zone (PZ) between Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. Al-Ruwaili began his career with a scholarship from Saudi Arabian Texaco and graduated as Petroleum Engineer from University of Southwestern Louisiana, Lafayette in 1993.
During a company career that spans more than two decades, Al-Ruwaili spent much of his career working on the operations side of the business where he served in various supervisory roles in drilling, production operations, assets management & engineering. During that time, he witnessed ChevronTexaco merger in 2001. He also served as Assets Development Manager during the period from 2007 to 2009. Moreover, he took additional responsibility as part of the Enhanced Oil recovery project in Houston, TX, as 2nd Eocene full filled manager from 2009 to 2012 and later as Field Development Manager from 2012 to 2016.
In his previous role that last from 2016 till 2020, he served as General Manager Wafra Joint Operations which manage explorations, development and production of oil and gas out of several fields in the onshore area of the PZ which is operated jointly by Kuwait Gulf Oil Company (KGOC, representing State of Kuwait) and Saudi Arabian Chevron (SAC, representing Kingdom of Saudi Arabia).
