Mohamad Hejazi

Mohamad Hejazi is Executive Director of the Climate and Sustainability Department at KAPSARC in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. His work focuses on informing energy and climate policy in Saudi Arabia and globally, with emphasis on net-zero and decarbonization pathways, the Circular Carbon Economy, carbon management, and integrated assessment modeling. Prior to joining KAPSARC, he was a senior research scientist at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in the U.S., where he led interdisciplinary research on global climate change. He has authored more than 150 peer-reviewed publications, contributed to the U.S. National Climate Assessment and the IPCC Sixth Assessment Report, and currently serves as a Lead Author for the IPCC Seventh Assessment Report (AR7). He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
