Carlos Garibaldi is the Executive Secretary of Arpel, the association of oil, gas and renewable energy companies of Latin America and the Caribbean.


With over 40 years of experience in the O&G industry, Carlos specialized in corporate strategy, portfolio management, business development, asset and corporate M&A transactions and reorganizations, contractual and fiscal terms, and negotiations.


At Arpel, he focuses on promoting the evolution of the hydrocarbon sector in the region, aligned with plural, just and inclusive energy transitions. He supports member companies in growing their hydrocarbon output while decarbonizing their operations, processes and facilities, and diversifying their energy product portfolios through the incorporation of renewable energies, if commercially feasible.


Carlos has held technical, managerial and executive positions at Amoco, Chevron, Standard Chartered, Tecpetrol, HSBC, Ecopetrol, and Arthur D. Little.


He holds degrees in Chemical Engineering (U. de Buenos Aires), M.Sc. in Petroleum Engineering (U. of Tulsa) and MBA (Rice University).
