Fouad Hejazi

Environment Fund

Fouad Hejazi is the Director of Carbon Market Investments at Environment Fund, where he leads the development and monetization of the Fund's carbon portfolio. He began his career as a solar design engineer in Toronto, Canada, before joining Saudi Arabia's CDM-DNA as a senior engineer. There, he was part of the Saudi delegation to the UNFCCC contributing to negotiations on Article 4 and 6 of the Paris Agreement.


 As a founding member of NEOM's carbon department, he helped build the organization's carbon neutrality strategy and the implementation of its carbon MRV system.


At NEOM, Fouad also managed its carbon credit portfolio, evaluating projects for integrity and delivery risk, and structuring transactions to meet NEOM’s projected residual emissions.


Fouad holds a B.Eng. in Electrical Engineering from Carleton University, an M.A.Sc. in Engineering Physics from McMaster University, and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
