Thamer Al-Hazmi

Thamer Alhazmi is Director of Strategies & Policies for the Electricity Sector at Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Energy. He led the development of the 20-year Integrated Energy Strategy for the Power and Renewable Energy Sector, aligning it with a wide range of national strategies, including industrial, mining, investment, and localization, and later led its 2026 refresh.

Before joining the Ministry, Thamer spent seven years as a project manager at Sadara Chemical Company, delivering multimillion-dollar projects. He holds an MBA and a BSc in Electrical Engineering, both with honors, from King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM), and completed the Public Leadership Executive Program offered jointly by IMD and KAPSARC.
