Currently CEO of the Brazilian Petroleum, Gas & Biofuels Institute (IBP),
main industry association in Brazil, Roberto Ardenghy is former Brazilian
diplomat with 30+ years of experience in government affairs,
infrastructure, energy, sustainability and oil & gas, both in private and
public sectors.
He held several senior positions in the Brazilian government and oil, gas
& biofuels regulator (ANP) and worked with BG Group in Brazil as
Government Affairs Director. In 2019 he joined PETROBRAS as Chief
Executive Board Member in charge of Institutional & Sustainability areas,
with responsibilities to oversee climate change, communications, social
performance and government affairs.
As a diplomat, he worked at different Brazilian Embassies and Consulates
abroad (Washington DC, Buenos Aires, Houston and New York). Ardenghy
is Director at FIESP (Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo),
member of the National Industry Forum of CNI (National Confederation
of Industry), which has representatives from the 50 most important
sectors of the country's industrial base. Internationally, he is Brazil's
representative at the World Petroleum Council (WPC) and he is a
member of the Boards of Directors of the Brazil-United States Chambers
of Commerce in Houston, New York, and Rio de Janeiro.
