Javier Cavada

Dr. Javier Cavada is a globally recognized energy leader with more than 20 years of experience 
leading multinational energy companies. As President and CEO of Mitsubishi Power EMEA, he leads 
the company’s strategic growth and technology deployment across Europe, the Middle East, and 
Africa, while playing a central role in advancing Mitsubishi Power’s ambitious decarbonization 
strategy. 
Along with his current role at Mitsubishi Power, Dr. Cavada serves as President of the trade body EU 
Turbines. Prior to joining Mitsubishi Power, he built a distinguished career leading complex energy 
portfolios, including serving as President of Energy Solutions at Wärtsilä and CEO of energy storage 
pioneer Highview Power. His experience spans traditional power generation, renewable energy 
systems, and energy storage, giving him a holistic perspective across the energy landscape. 
Combined with his on-the-ground experience advancing decarbonized power ecosystems, this 
breadth of expertise gives him a practical perspective on the technologies and strategies shaping 
the resilient energy systems of the future. 
A prominent voice in the global energy dialogue, Dr. Cavada is known for his commanding

having participated in five United Nations Conferences of the Parties (COPs) and numerous leading
